Startdom Weekend Event

photoLeicester Lean Startups

Are you planning to start your own business and do not know how? Respond immediately! Sign up for our Startdom Weekend in Leicester.

Take Action!

Entrepreneurship cannot be taught in the lecture theatre. You can only learn in practice under the mentorship of experienced entrepreneurs. Learning by doing is the most effective way to kick start your business.

Starting Point

The event will start with an introductory evening meeting on Friday 27th June at our unique space Incubate Leicester, 119 Granby Street, LE1 6FD. In this meeting you will be able to form teams and vote for the most profitable ideas. The atmosphere will be informal, friendly and full of excitement.

Core Event

The next two days (Saturday and Sunday) will be dedicated to business building with the help of business advisors, mentors, and entrepreneurs. The teaching will be intense and the learning will be fast paced. The aim will be to have an initial product and maybe also a customer by the end of the weekend. The event will take place at Incubate Leicester. For a meal, you will be able to choose from one of the excellent cafes on the High Street!

Mentors and Partners

You will meet mentors who will support you in your future ventures, you will find potential partners for your startup and we will get you on the road to find funding for your idea. On the whole, the weekend will not be just great fun! It will also prove to be a profitable enterprise and a great investment for your future.

Certificate of Participation

You will be provided with a Certificate of Participation, so that you may be able to include your participation in your CV in the future. That is in case you chose not to continue the entrepreneurship route. When you are looking for work, employers value highly participation in weekend events for startups, since they enhance your leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

Exclusive Follow-up

Those who graduate from the weekend will get the chance to participate in our exclusive community Startdom Peaches! The members of this community meet once a month to offer updates on their business or pitch their new ideas!

Check out the program here http://ekonomiaconsul…

The three-day event will be FREE, thanks to Leicester for Business and Musoft. In return we offer invaluable mentorship and advice, yummy meals and software goodies!

Incubate Leicester: New Accelerator on the block

Most of you already know that I have just set up an incubator/ accelerator in Leicester (UK) in partnership with the international entrepreneur and investor, Harun Master. This is definitely a dream come true! Since a long time ago, I have been dreaming about the moment I would be able to provide a roof and some funding to the budding community of high-growth, web-based startups in the Midlands and elsewhere. After several false starts, we managed to secure a building in the heart of Leicester, at 119 Granby Street, LE16FD. There we created a co-working space for around 20 startups (£99 p/m) and a separate space for those who want to come and work for just a day (£10 p/d). […]

HUB:BLE-3 Semi-Unconference, 12th June 2014, Phoenix Square

If you’ve never heard of an unconference, go ahead and search it out!

Here’s our short intro to what the HUB:BLE unconference concept involves. It is a ‘delegate generated event’ with a specific focus on technology, business, innovation and creativity. It is not an opportunity for a sales pitch! All delegates are expected to join in – either with a talk, or by networking with others, asking questions, bringing a rollup banner, and being enthusiastic!
