News of another great opportunity to get kids interested in coding…

Code Club is a national not-for-profit organisation that runs and supports after-school coding clubs for children aged 9 – 11. Our unique approach is to take volunteers with programming backgrounds and put them in touch with local primary schools, so that they can use free materials from Code Club to inspire the next generation to get into coding.

We currently have Code Clubs running in 17 schools in the Leicester area and are holding a meetup to bring these schools together and also welcome new schools who are interested in running a Code Club, or potential volunteers who are would like to find out more about what is involved.

The event takes place on Thursday 27th November from 7 – 8.30pm at the Phoenix Centre in Leicester, and is completely free, with refreshments provided. More information is available here: http://bit.ly/1wAmMvE and there’s a lot more information about Code Club at www.codeclub.org.uk

Volunteering with Code Club is a rewarding and challenging experience. Why not come along and hear for yourself? If you have any questions, please get in touch with me at eastmidlands@codeclub.org.uk
