There’s a new meetup group in Leicester for people interested in Data Hacking and Visualisation.

“Leicester Data Hacking and Visualization Meetup is a community of people interested in manipulating data and visualization. We explore the full range of techniques for converting raw data into visible, shareable insights. We use techniques like scripting languages to collect and manipulate data. Representing data in databases (big or small), several of which are schema-less (NoSQL), or even in files from plain old CSV to those stored across large clusters.Feel free to participate if you are out to start learning, or a long time data miner (before it was even called data science). Your interest in data could be from open government, through business insights, to scientific computing. It could just be putting information on a timeline, showing connections or creating graphics purely for their aesthetics via very simple algorithms.”
