Leicester entrepreneur Bosun Tijani has been nominated for a position in the Nigerian President’s administration.
Tijani, the CEO and co-founder of African tech incubator CcHub, is reported to be nominated for the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy role.
According to Techcabal, this is a break from the norm of civil servants and career politicians being appointed to such senior roles.
In March this year, the founder completed a PhD program in Innovation and Economic Development at the University of Leicester.
Speaking of his nomination he said:
After an eventful few days, I want to again express my gratitude to His Excellency, @officialABAT GCFR for seeing it fit to nominate me as a Minister of the Federal Republic. I particularly want to thank the distinguished members of the @NGRSenate for their engagement today
