A Leicester startup aiming to transform the food and drink industry has launched an online marketplace selling independent made products.
Table and Kin, based in Melton Mowbray, has now made its site live which enables customers to shop items made by artisan producers, such as locally sourced meat and handmade chocolate.
The platform works via a ‘click to order’ model, which reduces waste, prioritises sustainability and strives to surpass supermarkets in carbon footprint reduction, offering produce that is not only fresher but also exceeds supermarket standards.
The startup’s mission mission is to revive the tradition of dining at home with premium, honest, and delicious produce, contributing to a larger ecosystem.
Founders Mathew Halford and Julian Ramkissoon say they’re excited and nervous about the task ahead.
“We’re going from serving Leicestershire to the UK in early 2024.
“When people think of the very best, freshest, honest produce available, we want them to think Table & Kin.”
The startup is located at the ‘Stockyard’, which has just received a multi-million pound finding to turn the place into a food hub.
