Leicester founder Tobi Obadiah is looking for accommodation providers to partner with his startup Flat Harmony ahead of the new university academic year.
Tobi is offering six months free access to his platform, which gives residents in shared accommodation tools to manage day-to-day living together, from setting tasks and rules to managing bills and reporting incidents, alongside features designed to help residents bond with one another. For accommodation providers, the platform offers visibility into flat dynamics, helping them better support residents and step in before issues escalate.
The idea came from Tobi’s own experience living in shared university accommodation with students from a range of different backgrounds.
“I saw firsthand how a lack of structure and unclear expectations can lead to resentment, frustration and avoidable conflicts. I knew there had to be a better way to shared living.”
The platform has already been through an initial pilot and test flight, and Tobi says it’s built and ready to go for September.
Looking ahead, Tobi has a number of features in the pipeline, including automated AI matching, which would match residents with others who share similar interests, helping providers decide who to place together in a flat.
