The first Asian Founders Awards took place last week, celebrating the ambition, resilience and entrepreneurship of Asian founders and business leaders across the community.
The initiative began in Leicester as a Barclays Eagle Labs and De Montfort University programme, and has since grown to 10 cities, connecting more than 1,000 founders across the UK. Its first-ever awards ceremony recognised nominees, finalists and winners across a range of categories, including:
- Rising Star Award – Dr Kanishk Gaur, Athenian Tech
- Community Impact – Fazan Tahir, Tahir Group
- University Collaboration – Structural Adhesives Limited and University of Leicester
- Disruptor – Gaurav Chawla, Lumirithmic
- Excellence in Tech – Ravi Agravat, Berkfield Home
- Asian Entrepreneur of the Year – Varun Bhanot, MAGIC AI
- Scale Up Business of the Year – Kara Healthcare
- Business of the Year – Tahir Group
- Special Award – Midlands Care
