Applications are now open for an accelerator aimed at developing innovative solutions to social challenges in Leicester.

The Social Innovation Accelerator is designed to empower people from the city who want to tackle a social problem with a novel idea.

The 10-week programme starting in September will see participants undertake workshops, mentoring, and practical support to gain skills in idea development, business planning, and impact measurement. By the end, they will have a clear plan to launch or scale a sustainable social venture.

Last year’s Accelerator concluded with the establishment of several new entities including a women’s coaching initiative, an environmental consultancy and a health and wellbeing CiC

The Accelerator is being run by the Social Innovation People CiC, which is a partnership between Chris Shaw and Stacey Wragg- a team with 40 years’ experience of working within communities to foster sustainability, unlocking potential, and building a better future for communities in need.
Stacey is a Director at Creative Collaborators CiC and CEO at Voyager; Chris is a Director of Ethical Business Exchange and Think Funding.
