A Leicester entrepreneur says he’s had an unprecedented response to him and his startup following his Dragon’s Den appearance.

Markfield based Simon Sansome was backed by all five Dragon’s on the BBC show for his app Snowball, pitched as an “advanced version of Tripadvisor for the disabled community”.

Since his appearance this month Simon says his app has seen tens of thousands of downloads surging it to five in the Apple and Google download charts.

What’s more the founder’s idea of a Snowball accessibility score has been introduced for the first time in the UK at a Santander Work Cafe in Leeds. The rating system provides an easy-to-understand benchmark for inclusive design and support.

Commenting on Linkedin, Simon Said:

“Thank you – truly – to everyone downloading the app, adding places, leaving reviews, sharing posts and joining the Snowball movement.

“We are proving that accessibility isn’t niche. It’s necessary. For millions. Because Everyone Deserves Everywhere.”
