It’s time for another member spotlight! This is where we at Leicester Startups feature one of our brilliant community members, showcasing the startup but also the people behind them.
As you read this (hopefully on a Monday morning) our latest feature will be in London to attend ‘Pitch in Parliament’, where healthtech startups take to the stage in the capital in front of policymakers.
Now April Murillo of Trinity Healthcare Systems isn’t pitching today but it’s only a matter of time for the nurse-led startup- let’s find out more!
So April, tell us a bit about you…
I’m a Clinical Research Nurse currently pursuing a Master’s in International Healthcare Management. I co-founded Trinity Healthcare Systems, a healthcare tech startup alongside Tweetie Diya and Mark Enrijo. We participated in the Leicester Startups Accelerator Program Cohort 8.
Tell us a bit more about Trinity Healthcare Systems…
We are building a smart, modular, and a globally connected healthcare system so healthcare professionals everywhere can work together better to ensure patients get equitable and optimal care regardless of their location.
Tweetie and I are both nurses. She specialises in digital nursing and informatics and I specialise in EDI, Clinical Research, Governance and Genomics. Mark is our Programmer and our Tech and Dev Lead. We want to unify and standardise how healthcare data is collected and shared to make healthcare delivery safer, holistic, equitable and readily accessible in all healthcare settings. We’ve seen the nuances of fragmented healthcare systems that works in silos and how that affects the way we deliver care as nurses. We want to a healthcare tech system that is built with EVERYONE in mind.
How can the community help you?
As I navigate the startup landscape, I would greatly appreciate any advice or support you or your network can offer. I’m also eager to collaborate and share my expertise in healthcare leadership, clinical research, genomics, and healthcare delivery through GEM Health Research Consultancy Ltd., which I founded and where I serve as Executive Director.
