A new “independent industry voice for the East Midlands tech sector” has been launched.

TechEM aims to connect the region’s tech community bringing together founders, local networks and scaling businesses.

Founder, Nottingham based Martin Sandhu, said he created TechEM to connect the people building, supporting and investing in technology across the region, while showcasing the businesses, industries and communities already doing great work.

“We have never lacked talent or grit in this region. What we have lacked is an independent voice to back those people up and make sure that they get noticed nationally.”

“Today feels like a huge milestone. We’ve launched TechEM to give our regional tech scene the spotlight it has deserved for a very long time.”

TechEM, of which Leicester Startups is a partner, claims the East Midlands is the number one fastest-growing tech ecosystem in the UK with 75-thousand people working in region’s sector and 650+active community members.

The Community Interest Company (CIC) is now looking for organisations, partners, leaders, and founders who want to actively help grow and champion the ecosystem.
