Leicester entrepreneur Ian Kerr, headline speaker at Leicester Startups’ Summer Networking Mixer in June, has launched his latest startup.

After a four-year non-compete order came to an end, the founder has finally been able to launch Follow On Tours – a AI-powered bespoke sports travel startup.

Follow On Tours acts as tour operator and package organiser for trips and has former England Test bowler Darren Gough MBE as ambassador and shareholder. Ian said:

“In January 1999 I was eighteen years old on the hill at the SCG watching him take a hat-trick. That morning is the reason I’ve done everything I’ve done since. Twenty-seven years later he’s rung me up and put his own money into my business. You couldn’t write it.”

Ian Kerr spent 17 years building his previous company Howzat Travel into the world’s leading cricket tour operator. At the Leicester Startups Summer Mixer earlier this year, Ian described how when the pandemic hit, he and his team flew everyone they had on the ground in Sri Lanka home on the first available flight, at a cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds. Kerr sold Howzat Travel in 2022, triggering the non-compete now behind him.
