The team behind an online platform showcasing De Montfort University’s student and graduate product-based businesses has been announced as finalists in the AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) Awards for Excellence 2025.
DMU Made is up for the Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Employability Award.
The shortlisting has now helped put the university among the top five nationally for student and graduate entrepreneurship support.
On being shortlisted, Richard Bowden, Associate Director, Head of Careers and Graduate Success, said:
“Being named a finalist for such a respected national award highlights the dedication and impact of our work supporting students and graduates in developing entrepreneurial mindsets.
“DMU Made is about empowering students, whether they want to start their own business or bring creativity and enterprise into any career path.”
The news comes soon after the DMU Made team were also shortlisted for the ‘Future Talent’ award in this year’s Generation Next Awards, for their work in supporting young entrepreneurs.
DMU Made supports students and recent graduates in exploring self-employment, freelancing, and entrepreneurial skills, whether students aspire to launch a business, being self-employed or apply entrepreneurial thinking in more traditional roles. Key initiatives include pre-startup activities such as the Future Freelancers programme, DMU Global entrepreneurship experiences, and the annual DMU Made Awards, featuring the Pitch2Win competition, which take place on Thursday 30 October 2025.
The winners of the AGCAS Awards will be announced during the AGCAS conference at St James’s Park in Newcastle, taking place on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 June 2025.
