A Leicester founder says he’s “elated” after receiving backing for his startup on national television.
Simon Sansome pitched his “advanced version of Tripadvisor for the disabled community”, on the BBC show Dragon’s Den.
After initially offering up %15 of Snowball, the entrepreneur accepted £80k for 25% from all five of the Dragons combined.
Peter Jones made Simon the first offer after comparing the platform’s usage to Waze, which was bought by Google in 2013 for over a billion dollars.
When offering his investment fellow investor Steven Bartlett said:
“I think this could be huge”
During his pitch Simon revealed that his mother had passed away a few months before appearing on the show and he was feeling overwhelmed with the response of the Dragons following eight years of working on his startup.
Commenting on Linkedin the Leicester founder was full of gratitude:
“Since the show aired, tens of thousands of new people have joined the Snowball community, downloaded the app, and shared incredible messages of support.”
“Thank you for being part of something that’s bigger than any TV moment – a movement for accessibility and inclusion.”
