A Leicester founder has been shortlisted for an ethnic minority owned businesses innovation award.

Neel Thakrar, the co-founder of cashback app Tuck, is one of twelve finalists for the MSDUK #InnovationChallenge 2021.

The awards recognise individuals bringing innovation and impact to society.

Tuck went through the Leicester Startups Accelerator in February and was valued at £1.5m after closing its first funding round in June.

Tuck is an app which enables users to earn cashback when they shop at their local independent businesses.

The startup has 25 official paying businesses signed up across the city and has begun testing this week. Users can still sign up to join the waiting list here.

To see if Neel wins the innovation award, you can register to attend the event for free in September.
