A startup in Leicester has soft launched a second version of its app which allows solo travellers to meet and book holidays.

Travamigos has been redesigned to bring in more income to the business and to create a better customer experience. The company said it is the “most exciting product development in Travamigos history”.

Version 2.0 now simplifies the process for holiday goers to meet, pick a holiday and select an itinerary. Users can also now pay for the holiday from the platform with Apple Pay and PayPal integrated.

The travel firm has also become certified by ABTA, the UK’s largest travel standards association.

Founder James Wormington said that there is a “huge opportunity” for his company to fill the void left by STA Travel being placed into liquidation,

“There’s about £40m up for grabs!”
