A Loughborough founded insect-protein startup is celebrating after closing it’s first investment round.
BeoBia opened its round in April and this past week the company’s founder Thomas Constant announced on Linkedin that they had “secured all the investors we needed”.
He added:
“Raising our first investment round, as a sole founder, during COVID-19 was… an experience shall we say! We got off to a great start. Secured several investors pretty quickly. Then there was a pause…’What’s going on?! Whats changed’ I thought. I started doubting myself. Fortunately, I had a great support team around me who reminded me how far I had come….I think Dory from Finding Nemo puts it best -‘Just keep swimming'”
The sustainable food startup has also been named as a finalist in the Barclays Entrepreneurs 2021 People’s Choice Award!
