A new startup in Leicester has launched as a platform for pre-loved South Asian clothes.

Aalia has launched in beta with the aim of giving items like sarees a second life, preventing it from going to waste.

Founder Tini James says she is “super exited” about launching the site after working on it for almost a year.

“I hope to build a community of users who are passionate about thrifting to start this movement within the South Asian community.

“With enough proven demand for the service, we aim to launch it as an app to improve user experience. You can follow along with our journey on Instagram @aalia.app!”

Tini was a participant on the fifth Leicester Startup Accelerator. Applications are currently open for the sixth programme.
